Being a leader is scary!
Ever been in a leadership position? Would you rather be a follower?
Let my share my story of leadership with you.
As a child I would often be disciplined for misbehavior in school, my dad would always tell me "you can't act any type of way because people follow you, you're a leader". I would respond with "daddy I didn't tell them to listen to me, they made their own decisions". My dad would end conversation with "you were born a leader so people are naturally going follow you, make sure you're a positive example". This was hard to stomach being just a young child. I wanted to do what I wanted, when I wanted and I hated that people mocked my decisions, good or bad.
It bothered me that people wanted to be like me, and stating this just now makes me feel really different because nowadays people kill to have others emulate them. I was such an individual that I hated when anybody did anything similar as I. Anyways, from then on I have been in leadership positions from playing point guard on my basketball teams from high school to college, to now being a teacher.

Being the leader of Chasing Pride Films LLC. is interesting. I say this because naturally my personality type is am ambivert. I can be social, but I'd rather be alone in my own comfort and space, and unfortunately the company requires that I put myself out there more. This makes me uneasy although I look really social, I'm shy! Not many believe this, but they have to keep in mind that I have to do what I have to in order to run this company effectively.
I run my own film company!
Every time I say this I get this overwhelming feeling over my body; It's a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
What happens if I make a bad decisions?
What happens if I'm wrong about a person's character and that trust takes my company down?
What happens if we aren't successful?
What happens if I just don't have what it takes to do the job well?
I'm sure these questions are/were posed if you are or have been in a leadership position.
What should we do about it?
My answer is the have faith that everything is going to go well! If not, everything will serve as a learning opportunity. Pay attention to others' articulation, nonverbal communication, maturity and state of mind, and this will eliminate some of those worries. Leading this company is about me making good decisions when adding others to my team. I have to make sure that I can trust people; I do my research and I am very analytical. The way a person presents themselves, the way they communicate, the ambition that they claim they have, and the goals they have and all are equally important because ultimately it's not me that leads this company, it's my team that does. They are the ones in the field closely representing my brand, and communicating with others about CPF. They relay my goals, my intentions, my demeanor, and my personality to the world, and even provide feedback so we can grow that much more. Leadership if fun because it provides me with a chance to demonstrate favorable characteristics and behavior that is necessary to showcase Chasing Pride Films LLC in a positive and professional manner. I'm all about professionalism, respect, and love. I simply lead by example!
